Our Story

Allerton Windows started in 1995 with 4 employees on Sugar Street in Aintree, and has grown to become the largest local independent specialist for replacement windows, doors and conservatories within the Northwest. The company initially sold UPVC fascia, soffits and hardware, however, after Tony Hanratty became the Managing Director in 1996, the focus of the business shifted to installation and manufacture of windows, doors and conservatories.

Allerton Windows is committed to supporting the local community which includes investing in the skills of local people and investing in Merseyside’s economy. Our continued growth has led us to move to bigger premises, where we have a factory, offices and our showrooms. We ensure that our locally based employees are supported by us; many of our technicians have a minimum of 10 years service, and we continue to bring new apprentices through on a yearly basis.

The Team

We now have over 30 employees and are are very much a family run business. Below you can meet our management team who will guide you through the home improvement process.

Tony Hanratty

Managing Director

After leaving Hugh Baird College at age 16, Tony completed his City & Guilds Apprenticeship in Glass and Glazing with JJ Myles in Bootle. He then built up his experience by contracting glazing across the UK. Tony started Allerton Windows in 1995, initially as a manufacturer, but then quickly moved into the installation business. Over the course of over 25 years, Tony has built the outstanding reputation of Allerton Windows and personally ensures that every job completed exceeds our customers’ expectations.

On the 6th December 2019, Tony ‘The Hurricane’ Hanratty signed up to take part in a charity boxing match in aid of Marie Curie and Liverpool Knife Crime. Tony put on a pair of boxing gloves for the first time and committed to a six week training plan leading up to the big night. The IWA Boxing Night was a great success, raising £2900 on the day for both charities.

Paul O’Connell

Quantity Surveyor

Paul joined Allerton Windows to help the continued growth of the business. He has been working within the construction industry for over 14 years, starting off as a trainee quantity surveyor for Wirral Partnership Homes. Paul gained his qualifications while working on construction sites and has since worked on various sized projects, taking them through from design stage to handover. He brings a wealth of knowledge from the construction industry, as well as innovative ideas to help create bespoke designs for our customers.

Manufacturing

We are one of Merseyside’s biggest manufacturers of windows and doors, with 10 dedicated staff working out of our factory in Bootle. Our skilled team have up to 20 years of experience in the industry and are also dedicated to passing their knowledge to our apprentice.

Our manufacturing team understand the high standards that Allerton Windows operates at and ensure that every window and door that they produce meets them. We can manufacture up to 400 windows a week from our factory, and are proud to provide local homes with high-quality materials made by local professionals.

Allerton Windows is a family-run business that firmly believes in making employee safety a priority. Our dedicated factory is kept on the same premises as our offices and showroom so that we can ensure constant communication between our workforce and maintain the highest standards required to create the best home improvements for our customers.

How We Work

Find the perfect design for your home

We’ll help you find the perfect design to suit your home improvement project. You can either visit us at our showroom in Bootle, or we can arrange a visit to your home where we can give you an idea of your options, and show you the products that we’ll be using to complete your project. We’ll then give you a free quote based on what you want, with absolutely no obligation.

Technical survey and planning permission guidance

Once you’ve decided on your design and chosen the materials, we’ll conduct a complete technical survey of your home and make sure that we’re confident in completing your chosen project. We’ll be able to tell you if you require planning permission and will be able to sort out the necessary paperwork, leaving you with minimum fuss.

High-quality manufacturing

After we’ve taken measurements, we’ll send them away to our manufacturing team or suppliers. In many cases, we build your window and door fittings from our own factory in Bootle, ensuring top of the range build quality from start to finish. Once our manufacturing team is satisfied with the quality of your materials, they’ll hand them off to our construction experts.

Prompt, professional construction

All of our jobs are allocated to dedicated project managers who will ensure that the construction team arrives on time, gets the necessary works completed to a high standard and leaves your home in an immaculate condition. The project manager will be your point of contact for the build, keeping you up to date with progress and answering any questions you might have along the way.

Outstanding aftercare for peace of mind

We will only take full payment for the project once it is 100% complete and you are satisfied with your home renovation. Our team prides itself on its outstanding reputation for customer service. Organisation

You will be allocated an installation manager from the start of your project. Your installation manager will be your point of contact, ensuring that your project runs smoothly and to the programme of works.

Payment Plans

Once a project is confirmed and a contract is signed. We agree a payment plan which covers both ourselves and our customers. This allows us to identify the key stages of the project and allows for such eventualities as bad weather halting construction.

Programme Of Works

We believe that clear communication is key for the success of any construction project. Before we start any project we identify all works and help you understand the construction process. We’ll make sure that you receive the specific programme of works to your project, so you know what to expect from us.
