Reviews

Just had bi-fold doors fitted, along with 2 new windows ( one of which involved a wall removed to fit a larger window ). Allerton Windows have been totally fantastic from the day we first went to their showroom in Bootle where we spoke to Paul who pleasantly informed us on all the options and then said he would e-mail a quote (which he duly did).

We then had a survey visit from Tony and then a date was set for the installation. At every stage, they have been informative ( no hard sell at all ).

The work was carried out on the day by Ian and Daz, they were brilliant and a credit to the company. They were so helpful on the day, from helping move units to get the bi-fold doors through the garage. Nothing was touch trouble and they cleaned up after them all day long.

I can't thank you all enough ( including the ladies in the office Pauline and Bobby ). The windows look fantastic and they all went the extra mile to make the job nicely. I would not hesitate to recommend Allerton Windows to my friends and family as they are a very professional, caring organisation that makes you feel part of the family.

Thanks again guys ( we are thinking of getting more Windows done in the near future ). We will definitely be in touch.

We have recently had new windows, porch, front and garage doors fitted by Allerton Windows. They did an excellent job and the works exceeded our expectations. They are very professional and did not let us down at any stage. We would definitely recommend them and will most definitely use them again. They do not have a hard sales approach, rather they simply want to do the best job for you at a competitive price. They employ very hardworking tradesmen. Overall this was an exceptional job from a very well run company. We are absolutely delighted with our experience with Allerton Windows and we highly recommend them.

I’ve just had two bay windows, a front door and a stable door for the kitchen fitted and am extremely delighted with how they look, the fitters arrived on time and were extremely friendly, talked me through what was happening and always cleaned up at the end of the day. I would thoroughly recommend Allerton Windows to all me friends and family. THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!

After reading the fantastic reviews for Allerton Windows we decided to contact them for a quote for a new window and front door. Within a couple of days one of the team came out (at the agreed appointment time, which we feel is very important), measured up and gave us a quote that we were happy with. They even managed to fit the door and window in time for Christmas which we were really pleased with. The team at Allerton Windows are very professional and friendly. We've not long moved into this property are planning to replace all windows over time. We would definitely use Allerton Windows again.

FAQs

  • How much are your Doors?
  • All of our designs and installations are completely unique and based on your preferences. This means prices can change when it comes to colour, style and other modifications such as handles.

As a guideline, our doors start from £850 for uPVC doors, to £1,500 for French Doors, and £1,500 per panel of our bifolding doors selection. These are averages and don't include any bespoke changes. To find out more, speak to us today!

  • What sizes are Alumina doors available in?
  • Alumina doors are available with 28mm double or 36/40mm triple glazing, offering U-values as low as 1.3W/m²K.

With sash sizes from 0.6m to 1.2m and up to 2.5m high, Alumina bi-folding doors are ideal for heavy-duty or commercial applications.

  • What styles can Alumina doors come in?
  • These aluminium bifold doors are supplied in a variety of powder-coated finishes, including plain white, back or grey. If you are also replacing windows, then we can match your choice with the other Liniar products. In addition to looking good, all Alumina doors have been rigorously weather-tested, achieving fantastic results: these doors have beaten the minimum requirements for both air and water tightness by more than double the most severe pressures within BS 6375.

  • Why choose Allerton Windows for your Doors?
  • Allerton Windows has over 25 years of experience in the trade, we pride ourselves on listening to our customers and aim to provide the speediest service possible. Installation is simple and quick and can also add real value to your home without compromising on security.

We’re a Liverpool business through and through, as such, in the spirit of our great city we consider it our responsibility to treat all our customers fairly from our first meeting to our last.

  • Where can bifold doors be installed?
  • Bifold doors are best installed in a large opening on one side of your home, ideally leading out onto a garden or patio space.

Whilst you can choose to have bifold doors fitted in place of traditional french doors, they’re better suited to larger openings, so that you can make the most of the increased light and air coming in.

The Liniar Alumina bifold door system facilitates from 1 pane to as many as 7 opening sashes up to 6m wide. This allows them to easily fit into most home renovation projects.

  • How do bifold installations work?
  • You have a number of options open to you when choosing your bifold doors including:

    > Number of doors. Depending on the space you have, you can choose between 1 and 7 bifold doors for your installation.

    > Configuration of doors. There are a number of setups you can choose from depending on the number of doors you choose. This will determine how the doors open and fold onto each other.

    > External styling. Choose between sculptured and chamfered decorative aesthetic styles.

    > Colour finishes. 11 colour finishes are available, including white, black and grey to wooden finishes.

  • How long do bifold doors last?
  • You might be wondering about the lifeline of your new investment. The good news is, regardless of the design that you choose or where you live, Liniar Bifold doors have been designed to stand the test of time.

All doors come with a standard powder coat finish, making them more than capable of handling the harshest weather conditions

All fixings are made of stainless steel and tough aluminium is used on quad-wheeled track rollers to perform consistently – year after year

Hidden hinge fixings, ergonomic handles and discreet magnets.

  • What additional options are there with bifold doors?
  • Choose the optional laminate glass upgrade to give your bifold doors an added layer of security in line with the official UK Police ‘designing out crime’ initiative.

  • What is the difference between a composite door and a uPVC door?
  • The key difference between a composite door and a uPVC door lies in their materials and construction. Whereas uPVC doors are made entirely of plastic, composite doors are composed of a number of different materials with the intention of making them stronger and hard-wearing.
For example, the Rockdoor composite doors that we fit are composed of GRP (glass reinforced plastic) in addition to rigid uPVC profiles and reinforced aluminium frame boxes. This combines to create a door that is incredibly secure and thermally efficient.

  • Do composite front doors expand in summer?
  • All doors, regardless of the materials, will expand to a greater or lesser degree during the heat of the summer. The issue is really how much this happens, and how this impacts the door fitting.
We chose Rockdoor as our composite door supplier, as they have put extensive research into their products. They offer a ‘no-bow guarantee’ on all their doors, so you can buy with confidence knowing that your door will remain properly in place, no matter how hot it gets.

  • Are composite doors worth it?
  • Composite doors are more expensive than most uPVC and wooden doors, which naturally raises the question of if they’re actually worth the investment. The best composite doors offer class-leading high security, thermal performance and durability that other types of doors simply can’t compete with.

  • How long do composite doors last?
  • Composite doors have a typical lifespan of at least 30 years. Depending on the weather conditions and how well you look after it, yours could well last longer on this.

  • What materials are composite doors made of?
  • The Rockdoor composite doors we fit are made with the following:
First a high impact skin is formed onto an aluminium mould.
The inner frame is made using rigid uPVC profiles with an aluminium reinforced box section.
S-Glaze glass is used to fit any windows that you require, providing excellent security.
The door is then injected with Polyurethane Foam to ensure that any gaps are filled.
The door is cut down to size using CNC technology before multipoint hook looks are fitted for maximum security.

  • Do composite doors require maintenance?
  • One of the best features of a composite door is that they don’t require much maintenance when compared to their wooden counterparts. One of the ways that you can extend the life of your door is by giving it a gentle clean once a month. This can be as simple as wiping it down with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth.

  • How strong are French doors?
  • All of our French doors are made from uPVC. UPVC is a robust, rigid material. The secure frames and unique locking system provide the necessary strength to make it tough for anyone to break in. Triple-glaze your uPVC French doors, for added protection and thermal resistance.

  • What are the common problems with French doors?
  • French doors offer many advantages, but can sometimes become misaligned, however, this can be avoided by ensuring your french doors are properly sized, fitted and used properly.

They can also become obstructed by objects and dirt along the tracking. Be careful to clean these areas on a regular basis to avoid damage to the frame.

  • Can you paint French doors?
  • In short, yes you can. However, we suggest not to, since uPVC is not designed to be painted and therefore needs extra care such as specific paint requirements.

  • How long do French doors last?
  • Taking care of your new doors, keeping them cleaned and dusted as required and following our aftercare advice can mean your new French doors will last around 30 years.
