What's the difference between an orangery, conservatory and extension?
Both orangeries and conservatories are types of extension. A conservatory's roof is typically entirely glass, whereas an orangery has solid roof perimeter with a glazed section in the centre. Extensions involve creating a new room or space attached to an existing home without the addition of a glazed roof in any form.
Do all conservatories need to have a glazed roof?
New conservatories are typically built with glazed roofs, however, it's also possible to build them with solid roofs. Allerton Windows used Celsius solid retrofit roofs to replace glazed roofs in pre-existing conservatories, but we can also incorporate these into new projects.
What type of glass do you use in your conservatories and orangeries in Warrington?
All our orangeries and conservatories are built using Celsius glass. This glass is designed to reflect heat during the summer and insulates the room during winter. In addition to helping efficiency Celsius glass protects furniture from UV rays and features EasyClean glass technology.
